Archies Thongs are incredibly durable. Here's how to care for your thongs to get maximum use from them.
#1 - Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight
For maximal product performance, when you are not wearing your Archies Thongs, you should avoid leaving them where they will be exposed to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
Leaving Archies Thongs uncovered in excessively high temperatures and/or on hot surfaces, such as in a hot car or directly in sunlight may adversely affect the material of the thongs which in some cases, can cause them to warp and/or shrink.
Second, as with all products, the sun can cause the colour to fade and make the material more brittle.
So if you want to get the best out of your Archies Thongs, when not wearing them, such as when swimming or sunbathing, we recommend keeping them covered with a towel or other clothing item and never leave them in a hot car.
#2 - Be careful walking down steep embankments
If you are walking down a very steep embankment in thongs, this can place the toe pole under excessive pressure causing it to stretch. You may want to consider taking the thongs off, otherwise, you run the risk of stretching the strap which will affect the fit.
#3 - Wash by hand
If your Archies Thongs get dirty, they can be very easily cleaned with a green scourer or other scrubbing brush and after cleaning them, they come up like brand new! Warm water is all that is required to do this and allow them to drip dry. IMPORTANT! Never put your thongs in the washing machine or dishwasher. The high temperature might cause them to shrink or reshape and the straps can get caught in the washing machine causing damage.
#4 - Keep your thongs away for pets
Pets love our thongs too! Although our thongs are incredibly durable, they are not resistant to teeth and, as such, we recommend avoiding leaving your thongs where a pet can get hold of them. Not only can they bite through our thongs, but they can also damage the straps which can put you at risk of falling. Our warranty does not cover external damage to the thongs.
With the above product care, you should happily get one to two summer's use out of your thongs. However, we recommend keeping an eye on the grip. If you notice that the grip has worn down by 80% or it's losing traction, it's time to get a new pair.
