Before launching our slides, we thoroughly tested them on ourselves and other willing testers. While most of us didn't get blisters, there were a few who did. With any footwear - no matter the brand - if it's new, there is a chance that you might get blisters as the material needs time to soften and mould to your feet.
We found three causes of blisters:
- The band was too tight
- The size was too big
- The slides just needed to be worn in
Here are a few tips that might help you prevent blisters or work out why they are occurring.
1. How tight is the band?
If the band is tight over some areas of your feet, please try stretching it over those tight areas. Here's a quick video: How to stretch the strap of your Archies Arch Support Slides - YouTube
2. The size might be too big
Our slides are a different design from our thongs and have a more relaxed fit. Some customers might find that the same size in our slides is slightly too big. If you have more than 1cm of space in front of your toes and behind your heels in our slides, then you might need to size down. Here's a quick video on the perfect fit: The perfect fit of Archies Arch Support Slides - YouTube
If the size is too big and you're within our 30-day Comfort Guarantee period, you can still exchange them. You would just need to pay the return postage cost. For more read: Exchanges
3. Do the slides need to be worn in?
If the band is not too tight and the length is fine, the slides might need to be worn in. We suggest only wearing them for 20 minutes at a time for two weeks. This will gradually wear them in without blisters.
Lastly, all our footwear is covered by Our 30-Day Comfort Guarantee you can wear them for a full 30 days if you don't love them after that, simply pay the return postage cost and we will refund you for your original order (including any shipping costs).
